Happy Tiddly Tuesday!! Welcome to another amazing week of super fun challenges!! This week's challenge is called "Reel Me In". Clever, huh? What's it all about you ask? Well...all you need to do is make a project using one of this summer's new movie releases as your inspiration! Me? Well I've used the adorable Mr. Popper's Penguins as my inspiration!
This image "Eggspecting" is no longer available in either of the Tiddly shoppes but you can get it right here on Paper Canteen for free!!
All you have to save this cutie is to right click on it and save it to your desktop! I do hope you enjoy and create something fabulous with your freebie!!
I started by printing my image out. I colored it with my Copics and Prisma markers. Because it can be difficult coloring an all black image and making sure it doesn't appear "flat" I traced their wings with white gel pen after I'd colored them in. I then took my Versamark pen and coated them generously. I started with their bellies. I coated with Versamark then with white embossing powder and heat set. I did the same on their bodies except I used clear embossing powder to make their feathers shine!
I then trimmed them out, matted them onto a piece of patterned DP from my scrap drawer and backed them with black cardstock. I took a punch that, to me, resembles the edges of a film strip and guided it along my black cardstock on either edge. I then stitched around my main image, added my MFT sentiment on my new Tab Die-namic using Kraft stock and set this panel aside.
I then started to layer my panels. I had two other black/white and ivory/white designer scraps that I'd pulled out. I matted them, one onto Kraft stock and the other onto a slice of Basic Grey golden colored stock. I stitched both panels and started playing with placement.
I kept my back most layer larger than my PTI Summer Sunrise cardstock. I have embossed my cardbase with my Swiss Dot embossing folder. I tied an ivory ribbon around my back most layer and adhered. I then added my white and black scribbly panel, followed by my Dizzy Doily die-cut using my new Dizzy Doily Die-namic from MFT. In the center of my doily are two scalloped punches and a circular punch using scraps from my drawer.
I put everything together and called it a day! =) I hope you've been able to get out and see some of this summer's super fun movies and also have some fabulous creating time as well!!
Please come join us this week for our awesome weekly challenge HERE and don't forget we're having a HUGE new release on July 14th that you most certainly won't want to miss!! All info can be found HERE!!

Oh my gosh, there is a lot of detailing in this card. I don't know where to start. The die cut film real looks so great, and the colour scheme works so well. "I simply adore" it! ;D I looks like it is a slide out card, very fun.
Great card Meredith! Love the doily you used.
Hugs,
Larissa
