Tiddly Inks Challenge #27 - Spinner Card

Hello Everyone!!!

I'm so glad you're here with me again this week as I get to show off this week's SUPER FUN challenge!!!  Spinner cards!!!  I know some of you may be intimidated to make this but it's SUPER easy, I promise!!!  There are so many tutorials out there.  I knew how to do this but I wanted to find an easy tutorial for you all to check out so please check this one out if you need step by step help. 

I used the following images in my project:

• Bunny Boo Adventures
• Harmony Border
• Foggy Background

 My card measures 8"x 4".  My creative process always starts with my paper choice.  So I wanted our slumbering bunny to look cozy and adorable so I chose a palette of light yellow, blue and purple.  I printed him out in the highest quality twice.  Once on PTI white cardstock and the second time on patterned designer paper.

After coloring him in I then cut out the blanket from the image printed on DP and I ran a small stitch around the edge to make it more dimensional.

I then adhered it to my image and trimmed it out.  I then created my spinner card track.  I free hand cut for the opening but it is easier to use the word punch as displayed in the video example above.  My opening was cut wider so I used nickels in lieu of pennies.

 And in lieu of the dimensional (that's never worked well for me) I use a small button.  I use hot glue to adhere the nickels on either side of the button.  I then test my spinner BEFORE adhering it to my image.

Once I was happy with how smooth it glided I then added my image to my spinning mechanism.  I had extra room in the corners from where I cut so I added 4 white brads that I think add a little extra something something visually.

Once I had my entire spinner piece ready I worked on the background of my card.  I added the polka dot paper after I'd stitched a quick little border.  I then trimmed out the clouds from the foggy background and added them to the back along with the star from my original image.

I used the Harmony Border for the background behind my spinner track for added visual interest.
