Greetings Friends!!! Ms. September here with you again!! Today I'm bringing you another creation using my amazing Bombshell 'Rise and Shine' Set!!
This is a card that I've made for one of my girfriends for her birthday. I asked her what her favorite colors were; Orange, Turquoise and Hot Pink. So...I took those and RAN with it!!!
I went through my delicious paper stash and came up with a whole host of gorgeousness to play with. Mostly from a DCWV mat stack (LOVE THOSE) that I picked up at Michael's a while ago.
I wanted my card to be multi-dimensional to continue along the theme of my "Rise To The Occasion" theme for September.
I started with a Peony colored card base. My next layer is a bright aqua followed by the orange flowery paper from the mat stack.
After I picked out these main papers I set to coloring my gorgeous Bombshell from the Rise and Shine set. I paper pieced her bathing suit using matching papers and then colored the rest with my Copic and Prismacolor markers.
I matted her layer to a slice of orange cardstock and then carefully stitched around the outside with bright blue thread. I added two pink brads as the anchors for her hammock and set my main panel aside.
I then stitched my two main back panels together using multiple runs of a loose wavy stitch in the same blue as my main panel. Before attaching these layers to my card I tied a beautiful, turquoise satin bow around the bottom...to which I added my distressed metal edged tag using the sentiment "beauty queen" by MFT. The orange thread was not originally orange. It's white twine from The Paper Source that I dyed orange with my Tim Holtz Orange Marmalade distressing ink.
I took the thread in my fingers and held it against the ink pad and just zipped it through my fingers and the ink pad until I had the desired color. I then used my heat gun to dry it which only took seconds and voila! Orange twine. Using the same matching papers from the mat stack I layered coordinating strips of paper before adding my main panel to the card.
I added a butterfly embellishment right above my bow and tag, using a glue dot. I then added my main panel along with a small, embroidered flower and 3 heart shaped stick pins in pink, white and turquoise.
I truly hope you enjoy and come hang with us at the awesome Bombshell Forum!!
