Robyn's Fetish - Weekly Challenge #15 - Sketch Challenge!!!

Good Saturday Greetings Everyone!! I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend so far!!!

Today is our Saturday, Robyn's Fetish Challenge!!! This week we are issuing you a sketch challenge. I have to admit...I struggled with this!! Usually sketches are so helpful and really guide me but this one gave me trouble for DAYS!!!

When I changed the image that I originally wanted to use and chose this gorgeous wolf image THAT'S when the lightening struck!

Here is the sketch that we were given:
So I started with colors. Knowing I was working with the wolf I wanted it to be serene and quiet. So I started pulling blues, greys and tans in a variety of Designer Papers and cardstock first from my existing (meaning on my desk) scrap pile - it's a New Year's Resolution to start there FIRST before hitting new. Unfortunately, I'm not one that can sketch what I want to create before I do so. I just sit and wait for the ideas to come. It would be easier to sketch....but I don't operate that way.
But I digress!! I chose a muted grey/blue cardstock as my base. The cardstock is from a Martha Stewart jumbo pack. I then pulled the notebook paper...the lines on the paper are almost the exact same color as the card base.

I adhered it right away...I never do that. But I knew it was the right choice. I then just started cutting and moving things around until it all fit. All of the small pieces are scraps of Basic Grey, SU! and Michael's House brand. I stamped "Light The Way" from TCP in Colorbox Ink and heat embossed it. I then wanted something....wintery for the circle. So I used my Cricut to cut out a snowflake out of SU! DP.

I then set to coloring the wolf. I used my Copics and Prisma color markers. I've been practicing some self taught shading skills and they're coming along...I think ;) I intentionally flooded the moon with color so it would bleed over the lines of my image giving the moon a glowing look.

I then used my new Souffle pens in white to color the wolf's paws and the end of his tail. I used my sparkly Sakura gel pen in light silver to trace an edge down the wolf's outline as if his fur were glistening in the sparkly moonlight.

I then set everything down and adhered it. The snowflake is set up on pop dots to give this simple card a bit of dimension.I hope you enjoyed my version of the sketch!!

We'd LOVE for you to play along!! You are not required to use an RF image but you do need to follow the sketch. If you play please link your creation to the RF Challenge Blog in the comments section. One random winner will receive 6 free images!!! It's silly NOT to play along!!

I can't wait to see what you do!!!

And please check out my fellow amazing DT members sites for their interpretations! And leave some love baby..leave some love! =)
