Today we are working with Me and My Bear!! Isn't she adorable??? You MUST grab her up at the Challenge Blog after visiting with all of our lovely ladies!!!
I created a simple pocket card to hold a bookmark for my 5 year old daughter. She is so excited about learning to read and LOVES her books that have those pre-added ribbons to hold your place. I started with a 5.5 x 5.5 square card using MS black cardstock. I then adhered the clear Hambly acrylic sheet over a piece of SU! DP. I stitched them together and adhered them to the card leaving the top 'open'.
The stickers in the background are from an old SU! Simply Scrappin' kit.
I colored "Me and My Bear" with my Copics and glittered up the adorable bear she's holding with a mix of white velvet flock and sparkly white glitter. The image itself is adhered to chipboard for sturdiness. I used my SU! notch punch (the half moon little one) to create the scallop for the top of the bookmark. I hole punched and then used a shiny silver brad for a cute little embellishment to thread my ribbon through. I hand wrote the word READ on the side.
The back is a scrap of DP that looks like vintage notebook paper and will be perfect to write the date and names of the books when she starts to really read on her own!!
Lastly, I added her initials to the front of the acrylic overlay using Doodlebug rub-on transfers.
Thank you SO much for visiting on this exciting day!!
