Welcome to another week of FABULOUS CHALLENGE BY ROBYN'S FETISH!!!
Our challenge was to create a card for a man - NOT USING ANY BROWN OR BLUE!! YOWZA!!! I think this has been the toughest challenge yet!! So...I started by figuring out my image. This awesome image of a Dad or Grandpa was my go to for this challenge.
I consulted my husband on this and asked if purples and greens were acceptable to give to a man for a card. He agreed that it was acceptable ;) So the base, while it looks light blue is really a lavender color from the Paper Source. The next layer is SU! Always Artichoke edge distressed and the purple is from PTI also edge distressed.I took the purple paper and smooshed my purple Colobox pigment ink all around it. I then covered it in thin embossing powder and heat set it. I don't know if it accurately depicts it in the photo but it kind of looks like leather. It's super cool!
I then tied some SU! double stitched ribbon around into a Buttony Bow (see my sidebar for Joanne B's tutorial). I then stitched it all together!
I then started working on my Fab Fisherman panel! I colored him in EVERYTHING BUT brown and blue! ;) And I LOVE how he turned out!!! I printed him on white cardstock and then matted him on a piece of grey cardstock. I straight stitched them together and then used my SU! photo corner punch to add a little extra to the front panel.
I then grabbed my SU! tab punch and some purple and orange train DP and made a super cute tab out of it! I added 2 cool silver rivets. Lastly I grabbed my SU! retired True Thyme ink pad and roughed up the edges a bit.
Inside I trimmed a piece of dark purple paper and added another slice of the orange train paper focusing on the word Dad. I love when the inside coordinates!!
I am LOVING how this came out!! How will yours turn out??? Let's see it!!!!
Thanks for visiting!!!
XOXO
